My Beloved Zombie: the CapCut template and what it leaves out
“My Beloved Zombie” is the name most TikTok tutorials use for the trend's CapCut template. It is the quickest way in, but a template only fills its own slots with your photos.
Using the CapCut template
- Open CapCut and search Templates for “My Beloved Zombie”, “Couple Zombie AI” or simply “zombie”. Template names change and differ by region.
- Tap Use template and add the photos it asks for, in its order.
- Preview, swap any photo that came out badly, then export.
- Post from CapCut or save the video and post it from TikTok.
What a template cannot do
Most zombie templates turn a face grey and add an effect. Few of them show both of you, the hug and the cut to a happy memory, which is the part that makes people cry at the trend. You also cannot change the scene, the memory or the length.

Adding your own sound and caption
Our videos come with their own sound. If you want a trending sound instead, add the video to a new CapCut project, lower the original volume and lay the sound on top. Keep any text short and put it over the first two seconds or the final memory shot.
